How Do You Follow?

January 23, 2010

I was just reading an article by Bob Duffy on the impact of media in relationships. It specifically focused on the influence of the twitterverse on people’s decision-making. I’ve never seriously considered it before, but as a burgeoning writer I soak up every seed of information I can get and follow everyone and any entity I think can help me grow as a writer. However, would I trust someone I follow for advice on where to get the best HD LCD for the best price. Hmmm…wouldn’t likely come up in conversation considering, sadly, I don’t have very much direct communication with the people I follow. It’s mostly me offering comments or exchanging thank-you’s for following.

So what does that say about me as a follower, who just might be a part of your following? How do you determine who to follow and to what extent do you think they influence your everyday, any day, decisions?

What’s Important to You?

No matter whether you’re lax about giving latitude or considerably conservative, everyone has relationship standards. When it comes to determining which characteristics are most favorable in the opposite sex, rarely will you find two or more qualities rated equally. I’ve come up with a few desirable traits I think most everyone would love in a mate. The question is, do or die, which ONE stands out as the most important factor in your selection process. Now be honest – there’ll be no judgments made here.

Promise. :)

Welcome to the Journal of the Read Worthy! Read Worthy is a blog about relationships – all relationships. So if you’ve ever been in one, you may find it of some interest. My articles cover any number of relationship oriented topics. My sources of inspiration: personal experience and observation, scandalized media-motivated subject matter, and study driven material by relationship experts – thrown in for good measure :)

Now for the really neat stuff! I’ll be setting up some cool interactive polls and quizzes for you to take. You’ll be able to rate your level of expertise when it comes to relationships and participate in surveys I’ll use for upcoming articles. I’ll also try to come up with some fun and creative ways to test out some of my theories on social behavior. You are encouraged to offer suggestions.  These follies will be used to assess socially motivated responses to individual behavior. The only harm to be suffered may be my ego – due to personal embarassment :p

While you may find some degree of irreverence and hopefully a great deal of humor in my articles, I can assure you that the content is universally relevant and unquestionably Read Worthy!
